  Did you actually read the bible end to end?

  in my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.

  i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.

  well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

  RBC... something I heard this weekend and I want to confirm

  i have not been around much or even cared to dig into jw land.

  i been working on moving to a new place and leaving behind my old jw past, even the neighborhood where it all happened.. but something i heard this weekend had me thinking.

  my mother in law has a small, run down wooden home near the kh where we used to attend.

  Also if a KH has a home connected to it that is to be used by a CO that home has to meet certain qualifications.

  I was looking at the 2018 numbers. The countries where Portugese is spoken still have quite some growth. Angola Brazil and Mozambique. So the English and Spanish are getting informed.... but some are not being reached yet with the good news about ttatt

  I wonder what information is still stored about disfellowshipped ones in Europe.

  And at our meeting (in the Netherlands) it was said brothers and sisters could still pass on adresses of foreign language speaking persons without their consent.

  Well, when I realised it was all BS, I also made the choice to stay and play along. I would never be able to convince my loved ones about ttatt once I leave. So like JW GoneBad I love being a pain in the ass

  George One Time

  His book Sapiens was a big eye opener for me. His explanation of the existence of other human species and the agricultural revolution makes so much more sense than the Genesis account. He wrote another book "21 lessons for the 21th century which is also worthwhile". Worldy wisdom makes sense!

  Faders Needing a Great One Liner

  so our family fade is well under way.

  we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".

  we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

  I respond with telling how I started to doubt reading about all the killing in Jehovah's name in the Bible for dubious reasons. How Moses life was saved from a cruel Pharao killing the baby boys and how Moses did the very same thing later with the Midianites (Nu 31)

  “Do You Know the Time?” From WT Sept 2018

  there is a one page article in the current wt study mag, sept 2018 pg 22 with the title “do you know the time?”.

  in that article it describes a number of different ways you can say the time is 1:30. it goes on to say “there are even places where that same time could be expressed as “half two,” meaning 30 minutes before two”.

  what i would like to know is this, where in the world does “half 2” mean 1:30?

  Films with nudity

  i guess every jw has a different conscience on the matter, and i don't believe any jw publications have ever specifically mentioned nudity in film as being off limits.

  of course genitals are out of the question because that's usually relegated to r movies which most good jws don't view.

  female toplessness is condoned but not spoken about, as most jws i know have seen titanic and many own it.

  Nudity and sex are not ok, however violence and war are not a problem to watch. Look at the Hezekia movie.
